Worship Service – Sunday Morning – At Glenstone Chapel our worship service is designed to honor God. On Sunday mornings we gather together with one heart to worship our Creator and Lord. Our services are casual, so come as you are. We look forward to having you join us! Service Time is 10am. Service Location: Marvin Ridge High School

Women’s OASIS 2012: “Courageous Joy

Please join us on Friday, February 10 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. for the first women’s OASIS event of the year. This season, the Women’s Ministry at Glenstone Chapel is focusing on “Courageous Joy”. Our third event will be “Living and Serving with Joy” as we will have a fun game night with snacks followed by a service project for the Turning Point Shelter for women.

We are looking for fun, large group games such as Bunco, Catch Phrase, etc. If you have a game, please feel free to bring it! After games and snacks, we will make gift baskets for the women and children at Turning Point. In order to best meet their needs, we are asking you to visit the OASIS table in the lobby at church and select a Valentine. Each Valentine has information for one child or mother at the shelter. This will help you purchase a specific gift for your Valentine. Please bring your gift along with a snack to share at the OASIS event.

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalms 51:10-12

Bible and Book Studies:

This spring we will be offering two studies running at the same time. They will both be offered in the morning and evening sessions at the Marvin AME Zion Church at 1525 Crane Road in Waxhaw.

Women’s Spring Bible Study: “The Life Changing Power in the Name of Jesus” by Jennifer Kennedy Dean

The Women’s Ministry at Glenstone is offering a new Women’s Bible study “The Life-Changing Power in the Name of Jesus” from January 19 – March 15. When you speak the Name, you are speaking the most precious, costly word in all creation. You are speaking the word that thrills heaven and demoralizes hell. When the name of Jesus crosses your lips, all the power of God is set in motion on your behalf. Understand the names Jesus used for Himself in the Gospel of John as His contemporaries did, not through the filter of our 21st gentile ears. This eight-week study explores how Jesus reveals Himself as Jehovah, the Great I Am, as He meets the deepest needs of mankind. Learn to live in the authority and power of the Name above all names.

Women’s Spring Book Study: Grace for the Good Girl: Letting Go of the Try-Hard Life

Katrina Ryder is offering a book study for a small group of six women for each morning and evening session. The study will be using the book by Emily Freeman “Grace for the Good Girl: Letting Go of the Try-Hard Life”. Other than reading the book, this is a non-homework discussion group rather than a Bible study.
