Hoskins Park Ministries
In Glenstone’s passion to care for the least in our community, we have begun a relationship with Hoskins Park Ministries, near uptown Charlotte. The purpose of Hoskins Park is to help men who have been living on the street, or are near homelessness, to get back on their feet as independent God-fearing men by experiencing grace through Jesus Christ. This ministry began back in 2002 and currently has 12 houses all within one block of each other and accommodates 42 previously homeless men.
How is Glenstone getting involved? Two Ways!
1) We’re providing food! Glenstone Children’s ministry is sponsoring a food drive this coming Sunday, May 29th. Please bring canned meats, macaroni and cheese, instant potatoes, oatmeal, cereal and breakfast bars, canned veggies, chips, snacks, beans, hearty soups, canned beef stew, etc. on Sunday morning to the Construction Zone (Drama Room) or the Children’s Ministry Table at Marvin Ridge HS. The 1st-5th graders will be sorting the food during their class time. For more information, contact JJ Synan.
2) We’re serving them! Glenstone middle and high school students will be having a three-day service project from Tuesday, June 28 – Thursday, June 30. The first 15 students to register will get to participate. Online registration will be available by Sunday by clicking here. For more information, contact Madison Finney.
Thanks for engaging in this meaningful ministry to previously homeless men. Know that when you care for them, you are caring for Jesus himself (Matthew 25:31-46).
See you on Sunday!
